Walter Haas (trade unionist)
Walter Haas (born March 26, 1941 ) is a former German trade union official .
He learned the trade of machinist .
Walter Haas became a member of IG Metall in 1955 . In 2000 he became chairman of the board of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Rheinland , since 2005 he has also been a member of the federal board of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund . Until 2006 he was chairman of the North Rhine-Westphalia district of the German Federation of Trade Unions .
He was awarded the Georg Schulhoff Prize in 1998 , the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2003 and the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2006 .
