Doerthe Krause
Dörthe Krause-Kümmell (born September 4, 1943 in Danzig ; † July 13, 1995 in Herdecke ) was a German nurse and anthroposophically oriented teacher for nursing professions with international experience. The nursing institute of the Herdecke community hospital bears her name today: Dörthe-Krause-Institut.
Life
Dörthe Krause was born in Gdansk in 1943 . As a child she grew up in Flensburg , first in Mürwik , then with her grandparents on the western height of the city. The family later moved to Hamburg . After training as a nurse in Cologne , she worked in London for 3 years and then in Toronto for 2 years . In her professional thinking and acting, she was strongly influenced by these Anglo-Canadian experiences. They were working the professionalization of nursing in Germany .
At the professional level, this was expressed in her participation in the federal committee of the state working groups of teachers for nursing professions, in which her judgment was asked and recognized. In terms of nursing theory, this includes their keen judgment on new nursing topics. She dealt critically with the nursing process model at an early stage when this methodological instrument of nursing was shortened and adopted into German nursing with almost no criticism.
Dörthe Krause was one of the pioneers of anthroposophically oriented care in Germany. She was committed to founding the "Association of Anthroposophically Oriented Care Professions eV" (today: "Association for Anthroposophical Care eV"), in which she was responsible for a long time as a board member . Dörthe Krause worked in Herdecke , initially as a nurse in the community hospital , later as a teacher for nursing professions in the training institute, which she also ran.
The changes to the institute with the expanded educational, advisory and research offer ultimately led to the name of the new institute Dörthe Krause Institute.
Krause had been married to the doctor Hans Christoph Kümmell since 1990. She dealt with Teresa of Ávila . In the last 5 years of her life she trained her voice and sang among other things the Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss .
