Walter Knofel

Walter Knofel (born August 17, 1952 ; † January 10, 2018 ) was an Austrian director . Walter Knofel is responsible for a number of reports that he has shot for ORF since the early 1980s. Among them a portrait of the singer Laurie Anderson for the LP Trust a Woman , a documentary about Kurt Ostbahn with the title Saft & Kraft and a study about video art. Various music videos were also created for the youth show X-Large .

Knofel directed several video clips for the band Die Toten Hosen . Knofel is considered a close friend of the music group Pur . Under his direction, numerous concert recordings and two chronicles of the band were made, which were released on DVD. Walter Knofel died on January 10, 2018.
