Walter Kretz

Walter Kretz (born December 18, 1942 in Steckborn ) is a Swiss sculptor .

Life

Kretz trained with Hans Brogni in Biel , was a teacher at the School of Design in Bern and received various national grants and awards. He deals with art in public spaces , mainly with concrete and building sculpture as well as with graphic prints . With his work he took part in numerous art exhibitions as well as in 1983 at the 2nd Burgdorf Sculptor Symposium «Artists work with wood». His work also includes parts of the 1998 sculpture path “Free to be - Equal to be” in Grauholz near Bern , which artistically dealt with Bern's development from the old Confederation to the modern federal state.
