Walter Landin
Walter Landin (born May 29, 1952 in Dirmstein ) is a writer with a focus on socially critical topics , detective novels and the Palatinate dialect , what he calls " Palatinate Saund".
Life and literary career
Landin grew up in the Palatinate and lives as a retired secondary school teacher in Mannheim .
By the time he graduated from high school in 1971, Landin gained journalistic experience in the editorial department of the school newspaper “Kaktus” at the Albert Einstein High School in Frankenthal . From the end of the 1970s, socially critical texts were written while teaching foreign young people. Around the mid-1980s, he began to deal with the German past during the Nazi era . Around the same time, the start of the Palatinate dialect poetry , which he christened “Pälzer Saund”. In the 1990s, detective novels were added that are set in the region and are partly based on authentic cases.
