Walter Lily
Walter Lilie (born June 1, 1876 in Leipzig ; † July 1924 ) was a German painter.
Lilie was a son of the writer, chronicler and journalist Moritz Lilie (1835–1904); his older brother Georg (1873-1935) also became a painter.
After training at the Dresden Academy with Carl Bantzer, Lilie mainly painted portraits and landscapes. He was a drawing teacher in Mosbach at the Realgymnasium (today Nicolaus-Kistner-Gymnasium Mosbach ) and at the Idiotenanstalt (today Johannes-Anstalten). In 1920 he moved to Schwetzingen, where he found numerous motifs in the palace garden. In addition to Schwetzingen, Italy was a popular painting area.
