Walter Muth

Walter Muth (born June 12, 1900 in Coburg ; † January 31, 1973 there ) was a German politician of the FDP .

Life

After attending the Oberrealschule in Coburg, Muth did his apprenticeship at a bank and was a soldier in the First World War . Then he left his hometown to work in large-scale industry in the Ruhr area for a few years . Later he studied economic policy and international studies at the School of Political Science in Berlin . After graduating with the diploma exam, he worked for the next ten years as a consultant at the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Berlin branch. Later he headed the main departments for trade and craft as well as for industry at the Agriculture Office in Berlin. After all, he was managing director of the Berlin clothing industry business group until June 1945 before he returned to Coburg. There he also worked as a managing director, among others at the Coburg district group of the Association of Employers' Associations in Bavaria.

Muth was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1954 to 1966. In these he was always elected in the constituency of Upper Franconia . During his entire time as a Member of Parliament, he was a member of the Committee on Economics and Transport. He was also from 1955 to 1958 a member of the subcommittee of the Committee on Economy and Borderlands. In 1958 he was also deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group for a few months.
