Walter Peitgen
Walter Peitgen (born March 15, 1915 in Distelkamp ; † May 8, 1990 in Bruch near Nümbrecht ) was a German local politician.
From 1950 Peitgen lived in Bruch near Nümbrecht in the Oberbergisches Kreis . He was managing director of the Malzhagen electricity cooperative , from 1961 a councilor for the FDP and from 1972 to 1984 mayor of the municipality of Nümbrecht.
In 1986 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class. In memory of Walter Peitgen's work, the Nümbrecht community in the Bruch district named a street after him.
Peitgen is the father of the mathematician Heinz-Otto Peitgen .
