Walter Porter (athlete)
Walter Porter ( Walter Harold Porter ; born August 30, 1903 in York , † August 3, 1979 ibid) was a British medium and long-distance runner .
In the team race over 3000 m at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, he came tenth as the fourth member of the British team. Although he had delivered a strike result, he was awarded the silver medal like the rest of the British team.
He set his personal best in the mile run with 4: 21.8 minutes on June 23, 1923 in Manchester .
