Walter Hans Prügger (born August 23, 1969 in Frohnleiten ) is an Austrian pedagogue , theologian , author , educational functionary and former soccer player .

Life

After primary school in Frohnleiten , Prügger completed high school at Rein Abbey . He then studied business administration and Catholic religious education for compulsory schooling. After a few years in the school service, he began to teach at the Kirchliche Pedagogical University (KPH) Graz until he was appointed inspector for Roman Catholic religious instruction at the compulsory schools of the diocese of Graz-Seckau on November 1, 2011 . Since the school year 2016/17, Walter Prügger has been the head of the Episcopal Office for Schools and Education in the Styrian diocese.

Football career

Walter Prügger played alongside his studies in the 1988/89 season as a defender for the traditional Graz club GAK . His first and only assignment in the 1st division was on December 3, 1988 against SK Austria Klagenfurt . He was substituted in the 61st minute, Edi Glieder came into play for him . Later he played for Frohnleiten, Übelbach and the LUV Graz .
