Walter Reyno

Walter Reyno (born February 7, 1935 in Montevideo , † December 3, 2014 there ) was a Uruguayan actor.

The theater and TV or film actor Reyno, who took part in seminars and workshops, for example by Omar Grasso , José Estruch and Villanueva Cosse , also worked as a director at the theater from 1997 onwards. He received his professional training at the Escuela Municipal de Arte Dramático "Margarita Xirgu" (EMAD) and at the Teatro Circular . In the latter theater he worked from 1956 in a variety of different roles in plays by Shakespeare , Gorostiza, Harold Pinter and Florencio Sánchez, among others . He also played at numerous international festivals. These included the "Festival Mundial de Teatro de Costa Rica" in 1976, the UNESCO Festival in Paris in 1992 and the International Festival in Havana two years later . However, the list is not exhaustive. In the field of TV and film, for example, he worked in "Patrón" by Jorge Rocca , in "El lugar del humo" by the director Eva Landek , in "25 Watts" and "Otario". He has received various awards for his work. At the Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro de Cádiz (FIT) he was named best actor in 1995. In the same year he was awarded the Premio Iris . In 2012, the Sociedad Uruguaya de Actores awarded him the Premio Alberto Candeau . Furthermore, he received the Premio Florencio for best actor three times (1968, 1989 and 1992) . In the year of his death, the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture honored him with the "Delmira Agustini" medal for his services to national culture.
