Walter Schirnik

Walter Schirnik (born October 25, 1972 in Neuhaus) is an Austrian pianist and conductor as well as music and film producer .

Life

Walter Schirnik has been working as a music and film producer worldwide since 1992.

He has been managing director of the music and film production company C2M since 2015 and managing director of NeckarTon GmbH since 2012. In addition, Walter Schirnik is active as director and first chairman of the Stuttgarter Symphoniker eV and as the first chairman of Zuflucht Kultur eV, among other things, for integrative opera projects (Così fan tutte, Zaide, Idemoneo) with Syrian civil war refugees.

Walter Schirnik composed and produced the film music for Jo Müller's TV documentary " Roland Emmerich - Mein Leben" about the director. As a film composer, producer and arranger he works for TV and numerous cinema productions.

He had his first record deal in 1994 with Intercord / EMI as an exclusive artist. He composed and produced two top ten hits in Turkey. In Germany he was successful in 1998 with the title Let it rain by Gotthard .

At the home game of the Fantastischen 4 on the Cannstatter Wasen, he arranged the interaction with a symphony orchestra. He received a gold award for the live DVD.

He is the initiator, co-producer and film composer of the documentary film Hello I am David about the pianist David Helfgott , which was awarded the German Camera Prize (DOP: Ute Freund ).

As a media consultant and film producer, including for the pianist and conductor Christoph Eschenbach , he develops new formats and concepts to make the world of classical music accessible to a wider and new audience. In May 2017 the documentary film The Vienna Philharmonic - More than Music! by Walter Schirnik (producer) and Co Merz (director).
