Walter Steinfatt

Walter Steinfatt (born December 23, 1900 in Schwerin , † 1988 ) was a German educator . From 1931 to 1945 he taught at various seafaring schools and, after the end of the war, was committed to reopening the shipping school in Wustrow, Mecklenburg .

Walter Steinfatt attended the Realgymnasium in Schwerin and passed his Abitur there in 1918. After his military service in the reserve battalion of the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Grenadier Regiment No. 89 , he began studying mathematics and physics at the University of Rostock and Kiel University in 1919 . After passing the state examination in 1924, the pedagogical examination followed in 1926 before he worked as a study assessor in Wismar from 1927 to 1931. Walter Steinfatt began his activity as a teacher at the Wustrow Seafaring School in 1932, which only ended in 1965.

Walter Steinfatt died in 1988. His grave is in the Wustrow cemetery (Ostseebad).
