List of architectural monuments in Grafenwöhr
The monuments of the Upper Palatinate town of Grafenwöhr are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority.
Ensembles
Ensemble Marienplatz / Grafenwöhr market square
The town square (E-3-74-124-1), formed from a longitudinal rectangle, is predominantly built with two-storey eaves riding houses, most of which date from the time after the town fire of 1870. These are modest buildings with corner pilasters, profiled window frames and eaves and sill cornices as decorative shapes. The dominant feature is the free-standing town hall in the middle of the square, a three-storey gable building from the 15th century. The southeast corner of the market opens up to the parish church with its gable facade and the towering tower. The eastern part of the square is lined with a double row of trees.
City fortifications
location | object | description | File no. | image |
---|---|---|---|---|
( | )Former city fortifications | The walling was based on the natural protection options at the foot to the east of the castle hill, today Kalvarien- or Annaberg, and at the mouth of two rivers, the Creußen and the Thumbache in the east. Accordingly, the walled area is narrow in the east and widens to a greater width to the west. For this basic shape, the course of the wall and the fortifications (former ditch) in the north, east and south-east are still clearly legible documents, sandstone ashlar and quarry stone masonry, from the second half of the 14th century; larger contiguous wall sections are in the northwest at Pressather Straße 6 to 10 and Alte Pfarrgasse 6 to An der Stadtmauer 3, in the north between Marktplatz 2 and An der Stadtmauer 7, in the northeast between Türlgasse 3 and Marktplatz 16, in the east behind Marktplatz 17, im South-east at Wolf-Dietrich-Mayr-Straße 14 to 16 and in the south-west between Martin-Posser-Straße 14 a and 18. | D-3-74-124-1 |

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
