List of architectural monuments in Neustadt an der Waldnaab
The monuments of the Upper Palatinate town of Neustadt an der Waldnaab are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority.
Ensembles
Ensemble Altstadt Neustadt an der Waldnaab
On a narrow ridge, just before the mouth between Waldnaab and Floß, the city center of Neustadt was already pronounced in the Middle Ages. The plateau of the laterally steeply sloping height spur is taken up by the long street market, which narrows slightly towards the middle and is framed on the lower narrow side by a three-gable front near the town hall, on the upper narrow side by the high baroque hipped roof building of the New Palace. Due to the limited space available there, an extension was made to the west: the lower suburb directly adjacent to the town square in the area of the steep driveway. As early as 1358, at the instigation of Charles IV, the Freyung was founded, which is located in the river valley and therefore received a relatively spacious, grassy complex with one and two-storey residential stalls. On the town square itself, the medieval buildings were mostly renovated in the second half of the 16th century as two-storey gabled houses, but on the same narrow plots as before. Since the agricultural usable areas of the arable citizens had to be accommodated on the rear side, which was inaccessible due to the terrain, a special type of floor plan had to be developed. The resulting interior structure, the gable, the age of the building and the connection to the stately castle buildings at the top end of the square, together with the impressive height silhouette for a distant view, result in the uniqueness of this ensemble. The view on the south side is particularly picturesque, where the three high gables of the old castle from the 16th century rise above the preserved foundations of the city wall in the east and the parish church with its graceful tower crown from the 18th century rise up to the west. Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
