Radschinmühle is a district of the district town of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the district of the same name in the Bavarian administrative district of Upper Palatinate .
Geographical location
The district of Radschinmühle is located at the foot of the 446 m high Mühlberg on the west bank of the Waldnaab . It is located on the northwestern outskirts of Neustadt. Radschinmühle is on the county road towards Mühlberg and Denkreuth . The federal motorway 93 runs 850 m west of Radschinmühle . State road 2172 branches off the autobahn and crosses under the Mühlberg in the Mühlberg tunnel north of Radschinmühle.
Place name
Wheel rails was the name for pig iron from which wagon tires were made. Another name explanation refers to Hradčin, which is a name for the Prague Castle Hill . Hrad is the Czech word for castle.
history
In the interest register of 1514 the Radschinmühle is mentioned with an interest of 5 guilders for Walburgis and Michaelis . In 1817 Radschinmühle had 4 residents and a residential building, and then in 1861 3 residents.
The stream that operates the Radschinmühle was called Goldbach or Perlbach and was mentioned as early as 1548, today: Rabenbach. Pearls were grown in this brook, the high value of which explains the name Goldbach. No gold was found in the stream.
Attractions
- Only 500 m from the Radschinmühle on the Mühlberg is the pilgrimage church of Mother Anna from 1521, in the immediate vicinity of which there was also a medieval castle .
- At the Hradschinmühle there is a listed wayside shrine from the 18th century.
