Heinrich Ascherl

Heinrich Ascherl (born August 16, 1915 in Neustadt an der Waldnaab ; † October 8, 1999 in Regensburg ) was a German bank director and local researcher.

Life

Heinrich Ascherl attended elementary school and then the Augustinus-Gymnasium Weiden , which he finished with the Abitur in 1934. He began his career in the Bayerische Hypotheken- und Wechselbank in Weiden. Military service, military service and imprisonment followed. From 1945 until his retirement in 1979 Heinrich Ascherl was head of the Sparkasse Neustadt an der Waldnaab.

In 1942 he married Luise Piehler, the daughter of the local researcher Joseph Piehler.

Heinrich Ascherl conducted intensive local studies. To this end, he visited the Bavarian Main State Archives in Munich, the Amberg State Archives , the Prague State Archives with the Zettlitz branch near Leitmeritz (former princely lobk archive). He found further sources in the city of Neustadt, in the city archive of Weiden , in the parish of Neustadt, in the Bavarian State Libraries in Munich and Regensburg and in the Amberg regional library. His main work is the 835-page chronicle of Neustadt an der Waldnaab, which he wrote in 1980 and 1981.

Heinrich Ascherl gave numerous lectures and led study trips with local and art history content.
