from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The monuments of the Upper Palatinate town of Neustadt am Kulm are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority.

Ensemble Altstadt Neustadt am Kulm

The city, founded in 1370, extends in a rectangular outline on a ridge between the Rauhen Kulm in the east and the Kleiner Kulm in the west, protected by a partially preserved city wall with upper and lower gate and the castles on both Kulmen, before they were conquered and razed in 1554 . The floor plan shows exactly the medieval town planning, in which the walling and the boundaries of the town square correspond to each other in rectangular shapes. Since the town square has moved more north from the central axis, a parallel street with four connecting cross streets was drawn in to develop the wider southern part in the so-called ladder rung system. The individual plots of the predominantly arable citizen properties are long parcels, to whose rear utility buildings drive through the residential buildings from the town square and whose barns were added to the inside of the city wall between 1833 and 1850. There is also evidence of suburban development east of the Lower Gate since 1501. Due to the altitude, the unity inside also affects the distant view, especially from the north, where the town rises above the sedate parish of Mockersdorf with a uniform ridge line from east to west, only overlooked by the steeple of the Evangelical Lutheran parish church . This was built in 1414 as a Carmelite monastery church away from the gears of the town square and has been used as a Protestant parish church since the introduction of the Reformation by the Brandenburg rule in 1527. Before 1414 there was no larger church in the city, as the pastoral care was taken care of by the original parish of Mockersdorf, one of the not uncommon economic parishes that had been founded in the open and had received a well-fortified church or at least a well-fortified church tower for protection. The city fires of 1531, 1633, 1699, 1833, 1846 and the bombing of April 19, 1945 have decimated the medieval building stock, so that the building stock almost nowhere goes back to the 17th century, rather mostly from the period after 1833 and thus the has helped to achieve a breakthrough in a uniform concept for a two-storey side eaves construction with rare consequences. Some facades from the end of the 18th century are reminiscent of a structural bloom, which was caused by the transfer of rule to Prussia in 1791 and the associated concentration of offices in the city, but this only lasted until 1803, since after the loss of these offices an economic structural standstill occurred. City fortifications

location object description File no. image
( Location ) City fortifications Erected at the end of the 14th century, reinforced after 1430. (The two gate towers at the ends of the street market as well as the Neutor at the exit towards Eschenbach have been demolished.) The town wall made of sandstone blocks has been preserved in considerable parts, especially on the south side and on the south-west and south-east corners, and built over with barns in several places. In the masonry, a characteristic joint layering made up of horizontal layers of large cuboids and small reading stones placed in between becomes visible. (For individual sections see the entries under the following house numbers: 5, 6, 11, 15, 16, 44-46, 85-90, 118-126, 127 a, 127 b, 129-131, 142-146, 148-150) D-3-74-140-1 BW

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
