history

Filchendorf was first mentioned in a document as "Fühlenhardt" in 1281. The castle in Filchendorf probably originated from the Meierhof mentioned in 1281. In 1528 Filchendorf, which belonged to the Principality of Bayreuth , became Protestant. In 1565 Filchendorf consisted of 13 farms, whose owners were Mertten Wernlein, Ulrich Fischer, Steffan Eckertinn (widow of Steffan Eckert), Michel Knodt, Hans Pehr, Nickel Eckart, Georg Herell, Georg Fischer, Cuntz Ströbell, Hanns Schinbain, Hanns Lutz, der upper and lower Mulner. In 1625 Neidhard Pfreimbder von Bruck acquired the castle.

In 1803 Filchendorf came to the district court of Eschenbach and thus to Bavaria in the course of a land swap . 1818 was the Gemeindeedikt the community Filchendorf built in Bavaria. In 1848 the last remnants of the aristocracy (the patrimonial court ) were repealed.

On the occasion of the territorial reform , the community was incorporated into Neustadt am Kulm on July 1, 1972.
