Walter Thorwartl

Walter Thorwartl (born July 14, 1947 in Gröbming , Styria ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

After graduating from the Vienna Pedagogical Academy , he worked as a teacher in Vienna and Burgenland . Since 1973 teacher at the secondary school in Gröbming. First stories for his children were influenced by "The Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkien . From the mid-80s he wrote short stories and plays for children. His literary work was strongly influenced by the books of the Russian author Vladimir Nabokov. Another example from English fantastic literature is z. B. Alan Garner . For his work "Im Schatten des Mullach" he received the Children's and Young People's Literature Prize of Styria in 1989 . More books followed.
