Walter Zipfel

Walter Zipfel (born April 8, 1914 in Haßfurt ; † February 8, 1997 ) was a German lawyer who was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice between 1968 and 1980 .

Life

After attending school, Zipfel began studying law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , which he completed in 1937 with the first state examination in law. After his military service in World War II , he continued his legal training and graduated from the Second State Examination in 1949. He then joined the Bavarian judicial service in 1949 before becoming a judge at the Federal Court of Justice on November 1, 1968 . He held this post until he retired on April 30, 1980. He was later chairman of the German Food Book Commission between 1984 and 1988 . In 1984 Zipfel received the Adolf Juckenack Medal from the Food Chemical Society (LGCh),
