Waltersdorf is a district of Lindenkreuz in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

Waltersdorf is located in the Saarbachtal northwest of Lindenkreuz, east of the federal highway 9, in a rural area with a slightly undulating boundary around the district.

history

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1315 . The church dates from the 13th century and burned down in 1750. It was rebuilt in a modified form in 1751–56. On July 1, 1950, Lindenkreuz and Rothenbach were incorporated into Waltersdorf. The community was renamed to Lindenkreuz on March 1, 1951. The connection to the community association Münchenbernsdorf took place in 1972.

The village was and is characterized by agriculture.

The traditional maypole setting of the fire brigade and citizens' association Waltersdorf eV takes place every year on Whit Saturday.

Waltersdorf is on Kreisstraße 129. There is also a convenient transport connection to the nearby Hermsdorfer Kreuz .

Line 200 of RVG Regionalverkehr Gera / Land connects the place every two hours with Lindenkreuz, Gera and Münchenbernsdorf.
