Life

Walthari was the son of King Wacho of the Lithingi (Lethinger) family and his third wife Silinga , a daughter of the Herul king Rudolf . When his father died in 540 he was still a minor, so Audoin from the Gausen family took over the reign. Since he wanted to ascend the throne himself, he had the young Walthari eliminated after about seven years and was his successor. Walthari was the last ruler of the Lethinger dynasty.
