Walther Ahlhorn
Walther Ahlhorn (born January 20, 1879 in Oldenburg ; † January 20, 1961 there ) was a German lawyer and the last imperial district official in Okahandja .
Life
Ahlhorn was the son of the provincial government of the Principality of Birkenfeld , Georg Adolf Moritz Ahlhorn (1838-1917) and his wife Louise (née von der Lippe), born. After attending grammar school in Oldenburg, he studied law at the universities of Jena and Berlin . In 1898 he became a member of the Germania Jena fraternity . After completing his studies, he trained in law in Birkenfeld , then as a government assessor in Delmenhorst . In 1909 he went to German South West Africa , where he worked first as district chief and then as the last imperial district officer in Okahandja . During the First World War he was taken prisoner of war and returned to Germany in 1919, where he joined his father-in-law's tobacco factory, which he ran after his father's death. In addition to many offices and functions, he was President of the Oldenburg Evangelical Regional Synod and Mayor of Nohfelden / Nahe after the Second World War . Occasionally he worked as a writer under the pseudonym Oha .
His brothers are Gustav Ahlhorn and Wilhelm Ahlhorn .
