Walther Hermes

Walther Hermes (born July 31, 1877 in Solingen ; † January 24, 1935 in Wuppertal - Vohwinkel ) was a German theologian of the Association of Free Evangelical Churches .

Life

Raised in Solingen, Hermes attended the St. Chrischona seminary from 1900 to 1904 . His first place of employment was Oels in Silesia until he was appointed to the FeG Witten in 1908 as the successor to Otto Schopf . From 1921 to 1935 he was a board member of the federal publishing house ; From 1921 to 1923 he worked with Wilhelm Wöhrle as editor of the FeG magazine Der Gärtner . In 1925 his service began as a “federal nurse” and manager of the Association of Free Evangelical Churches. His biography of Hermann Heinrich Grafe , the founder of the first Free Evangelical Congregation in Germany, from 1933 had a lasting effect .
