Walther Krötzsch

Walther Krötzsch (born February 6, 1878 in Leipzig , † August 25, 1951 in Leipzig) was a German drawing teacher .

Life

Krötzsch served as a private in the First World War and was most recently a lieutenant in the Landwehr (military) . He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Silver Friedrich August Medal . Krötzsch worked as the municipal drawing director and taught at the St. Thomas School in Leipzig since 1914 . He was also editor and editor of the magazine for art education, looking and creating, until 1936 . On the occasion of the International Exhibition for Book Trade and Graphics (Leipzig 1914) he designed a special stamp. For his services, he received the Cross of Merit of the Saxon Order of Civil Merit and the Great Golden Medal of the City of Leipzig.
