Waltraud Bayer

Waltraud Bayer (* 1939 in Erfurt ) is a German athlete in athletics in the longer running distances.

biography

Bayer initially trained at the Post SV Bremen club and then later joined the Bremen-Nord athletics club (LG Nord).
She achieved 7th place in the marathon of the German Athletics Championships in 1979 in Stuttgart in a time of 3:13:27. When Run Winschoten in the Dutch Winschoten it was 1981 km in the 100 run ( Ultramarathon ) the first. In 1986 she achieved top positions in the marathon in Bremen's twin city Dalian in China. In the Bremen best lists of athletics, it is still listed in the 2010s in the senior disciplines of 1500 meters and 5000 meters and marathon. Bayer was able to run the 800 meter runner-up indoor world champion title in Thorn in 2019 and won several titles and places at the North German and German senior championships.
