Waltraut von Mengden

Waltraut von Mengden (born January 25, 1954 in Munich ) is a German media manager and business consultant.

life and career

Von Mengden studied business administration at the University Seminar for Economics (USW) Schloss Gracht in Cologne / Bonn.

After working in marketing at Estée Lauder , Waltraut von Mengden entered the media industry in 1989. After working at Gruner + Jahr and Hubert Burda Media , she became advertising director at Medien Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co. (MVG) in Munich in 1994.

From 1999 to 2013 Waltraut von Mengden was the managing director of MVG and was responsible for the magazines Cosmopolitan , Joy and Shape , among other things . After the sale of MVG to the Bauer Media Group in Hamburg, Waltraut von Mengden resigned as managing director. Since 2014 she has been the managing partner of WvM Management Consulting in Munich.

Waltraut von Mengden has been President of the Association of Magazine Publishers in Bavaria (VZB) since 2012 . She is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Jakob Fugger Medal .

Waltraut von Mengden lives in Munich and Starnberg. She is married to the businessman Albrecht Hengstenberg.
