The Wanderer W 11 10/50 PS is an upper middle class passenger car that Wanderer-Werke brought out in 1928 as the first six-cylinder model.
The vehicle had a 6-cylinder OHV in-line engine with a displacement of 2.55 liters at the front and an output of 50 hp. The power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a three-speed gearbox with a gear lever in the middle of the car. The cars with U-profile frames had leaf-sprung rigid axles and were available as open touring cars, limousines, Pullman limousines, convertibles or roadsters.
In 1930 the car was redesigned: It received a four-speed gearbox, a longer wheelbase and new bodies, for example from Daimler-Benz , Reutter (Stuttgart) or Gläser (Dresden). The cars continued to be built in this form until 1933. From 1932, the W 11 got a smooth steering gear ( Ross steering ) from Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen AG .
In 1933 the series was replaced by the smaller W 22 model after around 5,200 vehicles . From 1933 to 1941 emerged yet from the Wehrmacht - Kübelwagen W 11 / I with the 3-liter engine of the Wanderer W 14 4500 vehicles.
