Wanfabozi

Wanfabozi ( Chinese  万 发 拨 子 遗址 , Pinyin Wànfābōzi yízhǐ , English Wanfabozi Site ) is an archaeological site in Tonghua in northeast China 's Jilin Province . The discovered cultural assets are from the Neolithic Age , the Shang and Zhou Dynasty , the Spring and Autumn Period , the Warring States Period , the Western Han Dynasty , the WEI , the Jin and the Ming Dynasty .

The site is of great importance for understanding the Chinese sepulchral culture .

The graves discovered there can be divided into earth graves (tukengmu 土坑 墓 earth pit graves), earth graves with sarcophagus (tukengmu guomu 土坑 石 椁 墓 stone coffins in earth pit graves), earth graves with sarcophagus and outer coffin (tukeng shiguo shiguanm椁u 土坑石棺 墓 stone outer and inner coffins in earth pit tombs), Steinplattengräber (dagai shimu 大 盖 石墓, tombs covered with a large stone), Steinplattengräber mit Steinhaufen (dagaishi jishimu 大 盖 石 积 石墓 group of stone tombs with large stone cover ) cairns (jishimu积石墓group of stone tombs) and terraced cairn tombs (jietan jishimu阶坛积石墓group of stone tombs with steps and platform) divided.

The Wanfabozi site ( Wanfabozi yizhi ) in Tonghua has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-28) since 2001 .
