Wang Shu-Ming ( Chinese  王叔銘 ; born November 10, 1905 in Shandong , † October 28, 1998 in Taipei ) was an Air Force general and diplomat of the Republic of China .

Life

In 1924 he graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy on Whampoa Island in the Pearl River in Guangzhou . From May 1924 to September 1925 he was trained as a fighter pilot at the Secret Aviation School and test facility of the Reichswehr in Lipezk . In June 1925 he took part in the "pacification" of Yunnan and Guangxi against the warlord Yancy Min and in suppressing a rebellion led by Liu Zhen Huan.

In 1931 he completed a course on aerial reconnaissance in the Soviet Union. He then served as the director of the Central Aviation School at Hangzhou. In February 1943, he was given command of the Third Squadron of the Air Force of the Republic of China . In June 1946 he was given general command of the Air Force of the Republic of China. In 1951 he was deputy commander as major general . From March 1952 to July 1, 1957, he was General Commander of the Air Force of the Republic of China. From July 1, 1957 to June 30, 1959, he was Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of China . In July 1959, he became an assistant director of the Presidential Strategic Advisory Committee. From February 1962 to May 1972 he served on the Taiwan Mission at UN headquarters . From May 1972 to May 1975, when Hussein of Jordan established diplomatic relations with the government of Hua Guofeng , he was ambassador to Amman .
