Wang Yang ( Chinese 王洋 , Pinyin Wáng Yáng ; born September 24, 1990 in Anhui ) is a Slovak table tennis player of Chinese origin. He took part in the 2016 Olympic Games.
Year of birth
Wang Yang's year of birth is controversial. Slovakia registered him in 2011 for the European Youth Championship in Kazan, Russia, where he also initially competed. However, the world association ITTF found that Wang Yang was born in 1990 and was therefore not eligible to play in the European Youth Championships. The Slovak Table Tennis Association then withdrew the player from the tournament.
Many sources still give the probably wrong date of birth September 24, 1994.
Germany
In the 2013/14 season, Wang Yang played in the German Bundesliga at TTC Frickenhausen , which he left for Poland in 2014.
