The Warken-Eckstein-Weg is a hiking trail named after the miner and worker leader Nikolaus Warken (1851–1920) . Warken's nickname was "Eckstein". The trail is marked with sticks and iron on a white background; the trail is 35 kilometers long.

Course of the way

The route begins in Hasborn , the birthplace of Warken, at the monument erected in his honor. It leads along old miners' paths , which the namesake of the path probably used. You can get to Illingen via high-altitude trails along the Ill . From Illingen the path leads to Heiligenwald , where the hiker has now reached the coal area. The path now runs south and reaches wayside shrine . Here the path ends at the legal protection hall , which was built in 1891 under the leadership of Nikolaus Warken.
