NGC 102 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 330 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered in 1886 by the American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth .
