NGC 99 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sc / P in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 243 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 70,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 100 .
The object was discovered on October 8, 1883 by the French astronomer Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan .
