NGC 115 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is an estimated 81 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter.
Together with NGC 131 , NGC 134 , NGC 148 , IC 1554 , IC 1555 and PGC 2044 , it forms the NGC 134 group .
The object was discovered on September 25, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
