NGC 101 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is around 151 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 95,000 ly.
The object was discovered on September 25, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
