NGC 119 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / P in the constellation Phoenix in the southern sky . It is an estimated 328 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 28, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
