NGC 103 is an open cluster of Trumpler type II2p in the constellation Cassiopeia at the northern sky . It is around 10,000 light years away from the solar system and has a diameter of around 8 × 16 light years .
The star cluster NGC 103 was discovered on October 5, 1829 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
