IC 1555 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Scd in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 70 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 ly in diameter.
Together with NGC 115 , NGC 131 , NGC 134 , NGC 148 , IC 1554 and PGC 2044 , it forms the NGC 134 group .
The object was discovered on May 22, 1889 by the American astronomer Lewis Swift .
