IC 1550 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 272 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years across.
The galaxy NGC 11 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on June 22, 1900 by Stéphane Javelle .
