IC 1554 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 77 million light years from the Milky Way .
Together with NGC 115 , NGC 131 , NGC 134 , NGC 148 , IC 1555 and PGC 2044 , it forms the NGC 134 group .
The object was discovered by the American astronomer DeLisle Stewart in 1899 . Although the galaxy corresponds to PGC 2000 in several catalogs, there are great doubts that Stewart observed another object, not this one.
