NGC 148 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Sculptor in the northern sky . It is about 67 million light years away from the Milky Way , with a diameter of about 40,000 light years.
NGC 115 is a member of the NGC-134 group , a galaxy group that also includes NGC 115 , NGC 131 , NGC 134 and NGC 150 , PGC 2000 , IC 1555 and PGC 2044 .
The galaxy NGC 148 was discovered on September 27, 1834 by the British astronomer John Frederick William Herschel .
