NGC 154 is a galaxy of Hubble type E? in the constellation whale south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 361 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 23 , IC 26 , IC 27 , IC 28 .
The object was discovered on November 27, 1785 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
