Location of Warle in Lower Saxony

Warle is a district of the municipality of Uehrde in the district of Wolfenbüttel ( Lower Saxony ) and is part of the Elm-Asse municipality . Since the incorporation, which came into force on March 1, 1974, the place has been part of the municipality of Uehrde. In December 2016 there were 172 residents in Warle.

history

Neolithic tools from the Baalberg culture were found in the vicinity of the village . The place was first mentioned in 1154 as Werle in a document from Duke Heinrich the Lion , in which a knight named Thiedolfus de Werle is mentioned. The parish church of St. Valentinus dates from 1464.

Since the community reform, which came into force on March 1, 1974, Warle is no longer an independent community. Together with the villages of Barnstorf , Uehrde and Watzum , it forms the municipality of Uehrde within the combined municipality of Elm-Asse .

Political representation is carried out jointly for all districts by the municipal council of the municipality of Uehrde. Mayor is Rudolf Wollrab.

coat of arms

The coat of arms consists of an arched cross and two linden branches. The arched cross comes from a memorial stone that was excavated years ago and is now in the church. The sheets refer to the coat of arms of the local noble family of the von Werle and von Warle families, who died out in 1587. The coat of arms is in the traditional Brunswick national colors of blue and yellow.
