Warrant are a speed metal band from Düsseldorf .

history

The band was founded in 1983, first with the line-up of Jörg Juraschek, Thomas Klein and Lothar Wieners. On The Enforcer guitarist Oliver May joined the band. In 1985 First Strike and The Enforcer appeared before the band went on tour with Warlock . Soon the band split up. Juraschek and May founded Punchline and Wieners Monroxe together with drummer Christian Sommer . In 1999 the band reunited and recorded the two new songs Flame of the Show and When the Sirens Call , which were released on CD in 2000, together with the first two works.

Since 2005 the drummer Arno Verstraten has been a member of the band alongside Jörg Juraschek and Oliver May. Since then, Warrant have played at various festivals such as the Headbangers Opern Air , twice at the Swordbrothers Festival in Andernach , twice at the Keep-It-True Festival in Dittigheim and the Motala Metal Festival in Sweden . After further appearances, u. a. in February 2010 in Murcia and in October 2010 in Zurich , followed by appearances at the Muscle Rock Festival in Sweden in 2011 and as a highlight in August at Wacken , the world's largest heavy metal festival. In October 2010 the first two LPs were re-released on CD with the title “Ready to Command 2010”, analogous to 2000. The CD was topped up with two live songs from the Keep-It-True Festival in Dittigheim 2007. Oliver May left the band for musical reasons in August 2011 after the Wacken gig. With the successor Dirk Preylowski (Drown Inc., Human Bastard, Soulcancer) they continue to work intensively on the third studio album. Album title and release are not yet known. At the Wacken Open Air 2011, the band distributed a total of 5000 promotional singles Special Edition for Wacken 2011 in a cardboard slipcase with two new songs All the Kings Horses and Come and Get it . The two songs can also be downloaded from the band's website . In October 2014, after an almost 30-year hiatus, the third studio album Metal Bridge was released.
