Steady B
Steady B (real name Warren McGlone, born September 17, 1969 in Philadelphia ) is an American rapper and music producer . He was a member of the Philadelphia rap group Hilltop Hustlers .
Life
Together with his friend Cool C and another Philadelphia-based rapper named Ultimate Eaze , he released the album Countin Endless Bank in 1993 under the group name CEB (where C stands for Cool C, E for Ultimate Eaze and B for Steady B). The album was not a commercial success, which is why his label Jive Records canceled his contract.
On January 2, 1996, he raided a branch of the PNC bank in Philadelphia along with Cool C and the Philadelphia rapper Mark Canty . During the unsuccessful robbery , the police officer Lauretha Vaird, who responded to the bank's silent alarm, was shot dead by Cool C.
Steady B was arrested at his home shortly after the robbery. Two handguns left behind by Cool C and Mark Canty, including the murder weapon, have been traced back to Steady B. On October 3, 1996, he was found guilty of conditional murder. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on December 13, 1996 with no parole .
