A Wasp Knife , also known as an injection knife , is a special knife from the United States with a gas cartridge built into its handle .

The Wasp Knife consists of a hollow handle made of different materials and colors ( plastics , rubber , wood, red signal color) and different weights, which can be selected by the buyer according to taste and intended use (use in the country or as a diving knife) . In the hollow handle is a cartridge with carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) gas with a capacity of 24 grams. The blade is double-edged. The lower edge is ground smooth, the back edge is ground slightly wavy. The blade is slightly hollow ground towards both cutting edges in order to reduce the weight of the blade. A channel leads through the blade from the handle to just before the tip of the blade.
