The hydropower plant Bersimis-2 ( French: Centrale Bersimis-2 ) is a run-of-river power plant in the Canadian province of Québec . It is located on the Rivière Betsiamites in the Côte-Nord region . The power plant has five Francis turbines and is fed from the nearby Bersimis-2 reservoir. The installed power of the generators is 869  MW , the drop height 115.63 meters. The power plant is operated by the state-owned energy supply company Hydro-Québec .

Bersimis-2 was built between 1956 and 1959 and is one of the first plants to be built by Hydro-Québec (after the company was founded in 1944, existing plants were initially expanded). Together with Bersimis-1 , located around 30 kilometers upstream, the Hydro-Québec facility offered the opportunity to gain experience in building new power plants. The know-how acquired in the process formed the basis for the much larger projects in northern Québec in the following decades. A pioneering achievement was the construction of one of the world's first high-voltage transmission lines with a voltage of 315 kV.
