The watermill Worin is a listed watermill from the 14th century in Worin , a district of the municipality of Vierlinden in the Märkisch-Oderland district in the state of Brandenburg .

The Lösnitzstraße spans the southern area of the elliptical village green of Worin. The Road of Peace leads south out of the village. It crosses the Lechnitz, the outflow of the house lake, which supplied the mill with water at an earlier time.
history
The mill was first mentioned in writing in 1398. The von Beerfelde family was handed down as the owner in 1399 . They had an estate, a farm, a sheep farm, three fields , 18 wild hooves and the mill in question. An information board on the building says that there is evidence that it was operated as a mill with a water wheel in 1642 . After the Thirty Years' War, only one kötter lived in the village and another five hooves lay desolate. The mill is mentioned (again?) Like a shepherd in 1654. Another mention dates back to 1745. At that time it was operated as a water mill with a grinding or grist pass. In 1801 the place had recovered from and had 106 inhabitants who operated 13 fireplaces. In addition to a watermill, there are two Köttner, six Büdner, two residents, a forge and a jug .
Around 1825 further buildings were built around the mill. A fundamental renovation took place around 1890. From this time there are still numerous pieces of equipment in the 21st century. According to a bar inscription from 1899, experts suspect that the renovation was completed that year. In 1914, the miller Handke acquired the building and ran it for two generations. In 1940 the mill received an electric drive. From 1960 to 1970, the mill was only used for grinding. In 1985 the last owner sold the mill to the municipality of Worin. In 1992, a development association was founded that renovated the building and has been operating it ever since. Next to the mill building there is a permanent exhibition on the history of the last miller family. Changing exhibitions are presented in two other rooms.
